The top-ranked Australian tennis player Lleyton Hewitt will be available to play the forthcoming World Group Davis Cup Quarterfinal between Australia and Belarus from 7-9 April.
Lleyton Hewitt currently playing an ATP tournament in Las Vegas will travel from there to Indian Wells, Miami and back to Melbourne for his first Davis Cup campaign at the historic Davis Cup venue.
Lleyton is the most successful singles tennis player of all time with a 27-6 win-loss record. The official Optus Australian Davis Cup team for the quarterfinal will be announced late March.
Lleyton Hewitt worlds No 1 said he was angry with Australian tennis officials, claiming they were not doing enough to help local players.
Hewitt's comments that the Davis Cup was no longer his top priority touched a raw nerve in his homeland, where the men's team tournament is still revered.
Hewitt, 24, holds the Australian record for the most singles victories in Davis Cup with 27 to just six losses in 20 ties over seven years.
